Kuwait-based Tatra Group has expanded into Egypt, launching a new brand — T Developments — as it looks to replicate its Gulf track record in one of North Africa’s most active real estate markets.
The group’s Kuwait portfolio is valued at more than KWD 35 million, according to the company. Beyond real estate, Tatra operates companies in construction, building maintenance, air conditioning, and plumbing — giving it a broader industrial base to draw on as it moves into Egypt.
Sayed Othman, Chairperson of Tatra Developments, described the Egyptian entry as a new phase for the group, with plans to develop projects built on contemporary designs and construction standards.
He said Tatra chose the New Capital as the starting point for its Egyptian operations, pointing to the city’s development momentum and investment activity.
According to the company, its team has already participated in the development of around 20 real estate projects in Egypt — experience it intends to build on rather than start from scratch.
Wael Othman, CEO of Tatra Developments, said the launch of T Developments is designed to introduce the group to the Egyptian market under a new brand identity while leveraging its established track record in Kuwait.
He added that the company plans to draw on its Kuwaiti experience and its network of engineering and technical partnerships as it scales up in Egypt.
Ahmed Badawy, Sales Director at T Developments, said the company intends to build a project portfolio covering up to 400,000 square metres in Egypt.
The expansion will focus on new urban communities, with the company assessing opportunities to develop residential and other real estate projects as it establishes its presence in the Egyptian market.
