Velents, a fast-emerging Egyptian startup at the forefront of enterprise-focused artificial intelligence solutions, has successfully raised US$1.5 million in new funding while unveiling a groundbreaking product: Agent.sa, the first fully autonomous AI employee fluent in Arabic and tailored specifically for business environments across the Middle East.
The company was originally founded by tech entrepreneurs Mohamed Gaber and Abdulaziz Almuhaydib and operates through a combined Egyptian-Saudi team. Although Velents initially launched as a recruitment platform, the startup shifted its strategy in 2023 toward building a broader ecosystem of AI-powered tools designed to elevate how companies attract, engage, and manage talent in the digital age.
Since this pivot, Velents has rapidly gained traction in both Egypt and Saudi Arabia, securing partnerships with private sector organizations, academic institutions, and even ministries within the government. Their AI agents are now being utilized in a wide range of business functions including customer service, sales operations, and quality management fueling the company’s accelerated growth and regional visibility.
The recently closed $1.5 million funding round was supported by a number of high-profile angel investors, some of whom are senior leaders at globally recognized firms such as Google and Boston Consulting Group (BCG). This new capital injection is expected to support further development of Velents’ product line and assist in scaling its operations across the Middle East. The startup has already hinted that it will soon begin preparations for its next round of funding.
At the heart of its latest innovation is Agent.sa, a fully integrated AI employee capable of handling a complete range of workplace interactions using natural Arabic and crucially, its many regional dialects. Unlike traditional AI chatbots or virtual assistants that depend on translation features or rigid user interfaces, Agent.sa functions much like a real human team member embedded directly within an organization.
The AI system can engage in live phone conversations, manage WhatsApp chats, process customer inquiries, perform routine tasks, and even carry out data analytics all in a seamless and conversational Arabic language experience. This eliminates the technological barrier many companies in the region face when using AI tools that are not linguistically or culturally optimized for Arabic users.
“We’re not simply building another software product,” co-founder Mohamed Gaber explained. “What we are creating is a truly digital employee one that can integrate deeply with the human workforce. Our vision is to empower Arab businesses by providing them with an intelligent partner who understands their language, speaks their dialect, and contributes real value every single day.”
Agent.sa’s advanced capabilities allow it to function across multiple communication platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Instagram. It can perform key tasks like tracking orders, analyzing reports, and managing customer relationships all while continuously adapting and learning within the operational environment.
“We’re not offering generic software,” added Abdulaziz Almuhaydib. “We’re installing a smart worker inside every organization one that evolves with the company, adjusts to its needs, and maximizes efficiency in real time.”
