In Mozambique’s rapidly evolving business ecosystem, technology adoption is moving from an operational luxury to a core requirement for survival. However, for many small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs), implementing digital tools without a clear strategy leads to wasted capital and security vulnerabilities.
To solve this challenge, digital transformation consultant and cybersecurity specialist Matilde Mawelele Rungo founded RealityTech Advisory in 2024—a Mozambique-based consultancy designed to build practical, affordable, and sustainable technology roadmaps for businesses and startups.
A Strategy-First Approach to Digital Innovation
Rather than pushing high-cost international software suites, RealityTech Advisory focuses on alignment, accessibility, and organizational readiness:
-
Tailored Digital Solutions: Designing custom, step-by-step digital roadmaps that match the financial capacity and technical maturity of each business.
-
Focus on Agritech & Green Sectors: Providing targeted advisory services to agricultural and environmental enterprises, helping them digitalize supply chains and operational tracking.
-
Cybersecurity & Risk Resilience: Integrating security protocols into digital workflows to protect growing African enterprises against emerging cyber threats.
-
Human-Centered Implementation: Ensuring business teams receive hands-on training to maintain digital systems independently over the long term.
Catalyzing Growth via the Tony Elumelu Foundation
Rungo’s entrepreneurial vision gained momentum following her selection for the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) Entrepreneurship Programme in 2024, joining thousands of African founders driving local innovation.
Through TEF’s $5,000 seed capital, intensive business training, and pan-African alumni network, Rungo expanded RealityTech Advisory’s capacity. Today, the consultancy employs a core team of digital experts and leads social impact initiatives like MTI (A Triad of Hope for Children), which promotes digital literacy and tech innovation among young Mozambicans.
As Mozambique and the broader Southern African region build out their digital infrastructure, leaders like Matilde Rungo are proving that successful digital transformation isn’t about buying the most expensive software—it’s about knowing how to make technology create real, lasting value.
