Global web hosting and website-building company Hostinger, headquartered in Lithuania, has officially launched its services in Nigeria. The company is targeting local small businesses and entrepreneurs, offering a suite of AI-powered website and business tools alongside crucial Naira-based payment options to streamline the process of establishing an online presence. This launch is highly strategic, aligning with Nigeria’s expanding digital economy, which contributed approximately ₦7 trillion to GDP in Q1 2025 and is underpinned by over 39 million MSMEs. Hostinger aims to address the common hurdles faced by these businesses, such as limited digital skills, unreliable infrastructure, and high operational costs, by offering automated tools, transparent pricing, and localized support.
AI-Powered Solutions for SMEs
Hostinger’s primary goal, as stated by Head of Communications Eiviltas Paraščiakas, is to provide people with “fast, reliable, and fair tools” that enable them to build and grow online with confidence. Nigerian users will now have access to a comprehensive product offering, including the Hostinger website builder, WordPress, VPS hosting, and advanced AI utilities:
-
Hostinger Horizons: An AI-powered website and web app builder that simplifies the creation process.
-
Hostinger Reach: An automated email marketing platform.
-
Kodee: The company’s proprietary AI agent, capable of automating technical tasks such as website migration, content generation, and managing products on the customizable, open-source e-commerce platform, WooCommerce.
Kodee’s efficiency has been demonstrated internally, having handled approximately 855,000 customer conversations in September 2025, resolving 76% of them automatically and yielding a saving of over €750,000 ($873,000) for the company in that month alone. Hostinger’s entry puts it in direct competition with existing web-hosting players in Nigeria, such as telaHosting, GO54QServers, HostAfrica, and Truehost Nigeria, many of whom already offer tailored plans and local-currency payment options for the Nigerian market. The introduction of Hostinger’s integrated, AI-focused product suite is expected to further intensify the competition and drive the adoption of dedicated business websites among Nigerian SMEs.
