Tunisian startup WildyNess has successfully closed a pre-seed funding round, the value of which has not been publicly disclosed, to support the scaling of its sustainable travel marketplace across North Africa.
Founded in 2021 by engineers Achraf Aouadi and Rym Bourguib, WildyNess is a Tunis-based platform focused on sustainable tourism and Community-Based Tourism (CBT). The marketplace caters to both B2C and B2B2C segments, connecting conscious travelers with a carefully curated selection of authentic experiences. These experiences are co-created in partnership with local micro-businesses, ensuring visitors receive genuine cultural immersion while generating direct economic benefits for the communities involved. By promoting these micro-businesses, WildyNess helps them gain international visibility and access new revenue streams.
Since its launch, WildyNess has positioned itself as a leading platform for authentic travel experiences and community-based tourism in the region. The startup has now secured a strategic pre-seed funding round co-led by the Bridging Angels network and the African Diaspora Network. This investment marks a significant milestone for the regional travel tech ecosystem, highlighting investor confidence in sustainable tourism ventures across North Africa.
WildyNess has already demonstrated strong market validation, generating over US$300,000 in organic sales since its 2022 launch without spending a dollar on paid marketing. “This investment confirms our belief that the future of travel lies in authenticity and impact, rather than sheer volume,” said Achraf Aouadi, co-founder of WildyNess. “Achieving $300,000 in organic sales shows that travelers are seeking meaningful, real-world connections rather than generic attractions. The support of Bridging Angels and the African Diaspora Network not only provides capital but also a strategic bridge to international markets, helping us export this Tunisian success story across the MENA region.”
The funds raised will be used to accelerate WildyNess’ regional expansion into Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE, while also enhancing the company’s technology platform to support scalable operations.
Investors from Bridging Angels expressed enthusiasm about backing the venture, stating, “We are proud to support African startups and entrepreneurs who bring fresh perspectives to their industries while maintaining unwavering discipline and care for their customers. WildyNess exemplifies these qualities, and we are excited to partner with the team as they expand their impact.”
With this pre-seed round, WildyNess is poised to strengthen its position as a leading sustainable travel marketplace in North Africa, driving economic empowerment for local communities while offering travelers meaningful, authentic experiences.
